LEVEL 2 NVQ DIPLOMA IN TRAVEL SERVICES

This qualifications is aimed at those working or seeking to start a career in travel services. They are assessed whilst in the workplace to allow hands-on experience as learners train. Learners choose between three specialist pathways:

Leisure and Business, Tour Operators — Head Office and Tour Operators — Field Staff.

To achieve the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Travel Services, learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits in total. 13 credits must be achieved from Group A and the remainder of the credits can be made up as follows, depending on the pathway:

  • Leisure and Business A minimum of 5 credits from Group B. The remainder of the credits can be made up from Group B or E.
  • Tour Operators — Head Office 6 credits from Group C. The remainder of the credits must be achieved from Group F.
  • Tour Operators — Field Staff 4 credits from Group D. The remainder of the credits must be achieved from Group G.

 Group A Mandatory units:

  •  Give Customers a Positive Impression of Yourself and Your Organisation

Leisure and Business pathway Group B

  • Arrange Non Multi-Sector Air Travel
  • Help Customers to Choose and Book Travel Services

Group E

  • Build and Maintain Face-to-Face Relationships with Customers
  • Set Up and Maintain Promotional Displays
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities in the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism Sector
  • Process Travel and Tourism Services Payments
  • Assist Customers Prior To and After Travelling
  • Research Travel and Destination Information
  • Identify and Provide Tourism-Related Information and Advice
  • Complete Foreign Exchange Transactions
  • Arrange Travel Itineraries
  • Obtain and Analyse Customer Feedback

Tour Operators — Head Office pathway Group C

  •  Build and Maintain Relationships with Customers Not Present

Group F

  • Arrange Non Multi-Sector Air Travel
  • 7214 Employment Rights and Responsibilities in the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism Sector Assist Customers Prior To and After Travelling
  • Identify and Provide Tourism-Related Information and Advice
  • Arrange Travel Itineraries
  • Process Travel Services Bookings
  • Assist with Travel and Tourism Problems and Emergencies
  • Collect and Maintain Tourism Information and Data
  • Tour Operators — Field Staff pathway Group D
  • Assist with Transfers

Group G

  • Build and Maintain Face-to-Face Relationships with Customers
  • Sell Tourism-Related Products and Services
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities in the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism Sector
  • Resolve Customer Service Problems
  • Process Travel & Tourism Services Payments
  • Identify and Provide Tourism-Related Information and Advice
  • Plan and Conduct Welcoming Events
  • Lead People on a Guided Tour
  • Prepare and Maintain Holiday Accommodation
  • Assist with Travel and Tourism Problems and Emergencies
  • Present a Commentary for a Guided Tour
